Pinch & Dash…POOCH

Ever since our puppy was diagnosed with allergies, I have had the joy of making her homemade doggie treats.  She will eat anything so she is not always the best critic, but after passing out these peanut butter treats to some of her pooch friends I have gotten a lot of “paws up”! This recipe can make multiple dozen using a small cookie cutter or just about 1 1/2 dozen using a large cookie cutter. I often cut the recipe in half.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bones

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup natural peanut butter

1 1/4 cups hot water

1 tbsp honey

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until combined and you can knead the dough a few times.  Turn dough out onto counter or between two pieces of parchment paper and roll to 1/4″ thickness. Use dog bone cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Place on baking sheet and bake 20 minutes. Remove and let cool completely. Store cookies in the refrigerator.

A friend who just finished enjoying his cookie!
